Joe is the general manager, and part owner of Western Distributing Company and began working for Western in June of 2015. Joe oversees our South Dakota businesses, AWest Insurance, employee benefits, and assists with company projects, development, new construction, and remodels.

Joe grew up on a farm/ranch near Rugby, ND and is married to Wanda (Volk). They currently reside near Mandan, and have three children: Sean, Chris and Marlee. In his free time, Joe enjoys aviation, golfing, fishing, hunting, and traveling. He also plays in a band, U3+1. The Western Distributing staff enjoys getting to watch him perform at the Mandan Band Shell each summer.

A lesson he has learned is to be appreciative of the beauty this earth has to offer. If you have been to places like Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, the West Coast or the East Coast, you know what he means. The list is endless. His reminder to everyone; “Every day, every hour, is a gift.”
